Further to correspondence between the Football Association of Wales (FAW) and The Football Association (The FA) I can confirm that International Clearance will be continue to be granted to The FA (on written request) for players registered as 'Amateur' (Non-Contract) in Wales until midnight on Sunday September 28, 2008. After this date the FAW will not issue International Clearance to The FA for players until January 1, 2009 when the next Registration Period opens. I can also confirm that the FAW will continue to request International Clearance to The FA (and other National Associations) for 'Amateur' players wishing to register to a club in Wales that participate in a Directly Affiliated League until midnight on September 28, 2008. The FAW will continue to request International Clearance to The FA (and other National Associations) for 'Amateur' players wishing to register for clubs that participate in Non-Directly Affiliated Leagues during the Registration Period conveyed to FIFA, namely, July 4, 2008 - March 26, 2009.
